The overall aim is to develop the four skills - reading, writing, speaking and listening. All of these skills are examined at Leaving Certificate and Junior Certificate level. Project work, music, theatre and literature skills during Transition Year gives the student an insight into the culture and uniqueness of France and other French speaking countries.

Our objective in the French Department is to prepare each student for the Junior Certificate andLeaving Certificate examinations. We also wish to foster a love of the french language and culture and hope that all our students will be able to communicate to a high standard.
