Past pupil, Catherine Doyle, was recently presented with an award in recognition of her achievement in coming first in her Physics Degree in DCU.
Catherine was also given the opportunity to nominate the teacher who had most influenced her for a special award. The teacher chosen by Catherine was Mr. Michael Moriarty, who received his award, a framed certificate, at the same awards ceremony. in recognition of his contribution to teaching

Past Pupil Sandra Fitzgerald to star in RTÉ's new reality show ‘Ballet Chancers'.
Monica Loughman, Ireland's most famous ballerina, is taking on the challenge of a lifetime: to turn six Irish hip-hop dancers into ballet stars.
This new six-part series, Ballet Chancers, starts on RTÉ One on Sunday 16th November at 7.30 pm. It will follow the progress of Monica's protégés over four months of rigorous training before they take their places on stage with Monica and her company, The Irish Youth Russian Ballet Company, to perform The Nutcracker Suite in the Helix in Dublin.
One of Monica's protégés is Sandra Fitzgerald, a past pupil of Dominican College.

Catherine Doyle received the DCU School of Physical Sciences 2008 Lynam Award, which is made to the overall best final year student of the BSc Applied Physics Graduating Class. Catherine has in fact been top of her class throughout the four years of her degree and is a worthy recipient of the prestigious award.
Catherine sat her Leaving Certificate examinations in Dominican College in 2004. She is currently continuing her studies in DCU and completing a PhD in Surface Physics under the supervision of Dr. Tony Cafolla. Well Done from all in DCGA.
We are delighted to announce a Gala Dinner will take place in The Great Hall, in Clontarf Castle Hotel on Friday 9th January, 2009 to mark this special occasion. This date is significant as it brings the 125th year celebrations to a close and commences the 25th year anniversary of the opening of the school on Griffith Avenue. This event hopes to bring together past students, past and present parents and staff, and friends of Dominican College.
The Gala Dinner promises to be a fantastic evening of dinner, dancing and reminiscing. The evening will commence with a champagne reception at 7.00pm followed by dinner, a guest speaker and music.
